This course reviews new features and benefits introduced in 2016 to the Widex U-Platform. A review of these features will demonstrate the benefit the user can experience such as having access to a wider input dynamic range which allows for a faithful reproduction of environmental sounds. This course also reviews new accessories and the latest updates to Compass GPS programming software.
Learner Outcomes:
Discuss and demonstrate the features of Widex Unique hearing aid technology to effectively counsel patients on the benefits of this technology.
Describe appropriate products to recommend to patients based upon their needs and the features available in the product and software.
State appropriate wireless communication options for patients including direct to I-Phone connections.
Utilize tools within the software to fine tune hearing instruments to address patient needs.
Speaker Biography:
Susan de Bondt’s audiology experience includes the Silverstein Institute in Sarasota, Florida, fifteen years of private practice ownership/management and provision of Fee Basis Audiology services through Bay Pines VAHealthcare System in southwest Florida. Recently she has worked in manufacturing for six years providing training in Government Services and Commercial sectors as well as Product Management and Audiology Team management. Her employment with Widex began in April of 2015 as a Professional Education Manager. Dr. de Bondt received her Master’s of Science Degree in Audiology from the University of South Florida and completed a Doctorate in Audiology (Au.D) from the University of Florida. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Audiology and a member of the Florida Academy of Audiology.
