Florida Academy of Audiology Spotlights Starkey, 2016 sponsor and Inventor of the new Synergy hearing aid platform, an industry first!
Synergy is the first in the industry to use dual compressors; one for speech and one optimized for music. Starkey will be spotlighting the Muse, Halo 2 and Soundlens Synergy products at this year’s FLAA convention, in which they are a Gold Sponsor.
Starkey, the largest American hearing aid manufacturer and long time supporter of FLAA, will be premiering their new Synergy hearing aids at the 2016 convention in Orlando. Starkey is a leader in wireless hearing aid technology with both 900 MHz and 2.4GHz Halo platform which is compatible with today’s smart phones.
The new Muse hearing aid was designed with the 900MHz frequencies and will link to proprietary remote microphones and television streamers. The primary goals of the Muse are to optimize speech understanding in all environments, including noise, however the engineers at Starkey also optimized the sound of music in this new line of aids.
Gardner Audiology, a west central Florida audiology company, is performing their own field study of consumer satisfaction with the Muse. As part of this study they asked 80 hearing aid consumers how important music was in their life. Eighty-seven percent said that music was either very important or somewhat important in their life. Only 13% stated that music as not important. All of these people have been fitted with Muse hearing aid models and early post fitting data is showing they are very satisfied with the sound quality of both speech and music. The final results of this study will be posted on the www.gardneraudiology.com website sometime later this year.
Starkey is hosting a post conference course about wireless hearing aid technology on Saturday August 6. Call your Starkey Representative at 800-328-8602 for more information about their hearing aids and wireless accessories.
