What university did you attend for graduate school and what year did you graduate?

I attended the University of South Florida in Tampa and graduated with a master’s degree in 1992. I am currently enrolled in the University of Florida AuD distance learning program.

Where do you currently work and what are your specialties?

I currently work with Gardner Audiology in the 2 Pinellas county offices: South Pasadena and St. Petersburg (Carillon). I’m primarily involved in adult diagnostics and hearing aid evaluations/fittings.

Why did you become an audiologist?

I initially returned to school after working at Pinellas Association for Retarded Children as a behavior analyst. I was interested in training in speech pathology with the intent to help those with communication difficulties. I switched to audiology after a couple of audiology related courses. I found the field very interesting.

What is your favorite part of Audiology?

I enjoy helping others improve their quality of life through better and I find the rapid development of technology for hearing improvement interesting.

Why did you join FLAA?

I joined FLAA over 10 years ago in order to keep up with the field of audiology in Florida through annual meetings and to maintain contact with other audiologists in the state. What do you enjoy outside of work? I enjoy spending time with my wife and daughter. I also enjoy fishing and working in the yard.
